Leszek M. Muniak, Regional Manager
As the co-founder of Larden Muniak Consulting Inc., Leszek M. Muniak has worked with a wide variety
of clients on hundreds of building code and fire protection projects, many of which required him to pioneer
new techniques in fire protection and building code compliance.
With thirty years of experience behind him, Mr. Muniak is a veteran of the building code, fire protection
and life safety industry. His propensity for innovative design has won him multiple awards, a seat on the
Ontario and National Building Code Committee, and Honorary Membership to the Association of Registered
Interior Designers of Ontario.
Mr. Muniak has also developed and presented numerous building code training seminars for Continuing
Education Unit Credits and the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs (Bill 124 examinations), and his
technical sessions are approved for Continuing Education Learning Units by the Alberta Association of
Architects and the Interior Designers of Alberta. |

Peter L. Senez, M. Eng., P. Eng., Founding Partner
Peter Senez is an experienced and well-respected authority in the field of fire engineering. Active in the fire industry for over 20 years, Mr. Senez has diverse and unique industry experience. He has managed large construction projects, implemented fire research programs, coordinated fire test programs, worked as a fire fighter and analyzed hundreds of real fires. He understands fire science and technologies, and is skilled at interpreting codes, analyzing failures, developing risk assessments, gauging the probability of failures, and explaining the dynamics of fire.
He is well travelled, in service to Sereca’s international client base, and is an author and frequent lecturer on the subjects of heat transfer, fire growth, combustion dynamics, computer fire modelling, and sources of ignition. Mr Senez actively participates on many industry committees. |

Chris J. Reed, P.Eng., Founding Partner
Chris Reed combines his wide industry experience with a practical background in fire fighting and an extensive education in fire science and fire engineering. He has investigated and analysed several hundred fires and explosions, including residential, commercial, industrial, heavy equipment, and marine fire losses. With particular expertise in industrial processes, he has led investigations of many large-loss industrial fires.
Active in the industry, he is a Certified Fire Investigator and Instructor through the National Association of Fire Investigators. Based on his knowledge of chemical processes and his forensic experience, Mr. Reed has written and lectured on the particular challenges related to fires in clandestine drug laboratories. As part of the research program at Sereca, he has organized and conducted large scale fire test programs. |

Keith D. Calder, M.Eng., P.Eng., Founding Partner
Keith Calder provides leadership with his expertise in building codes, fire safety standards, specialized fire protection systems, and performance-based design. He focuses on assisting clients with alternative solutions for complex and innovative designs. In particular, he specializes in the use of computer fire modelling to assess new construction design with regard to smoke control and people movement.
Complementing his design expertise, Mr. Calder has a wide background in forensic fire investigation. He has investigated and analyzed many fire and explosion incidents, and has conducted forensic audits of building design and construction. An active researcher, he has developed a vast knowledge of current and historical building codes, and continues to coordinate and assist with our ongoing live burn research program. |
