Larden Muniak Consulting Inc. (LMCI) provides specialized services in Building Code regulations, fire-protection technology and life-safety related issues. Since our establishment in 1989, we have provided services on projects in Canada, the United States and overseas. Founding principals, Allan Larden and Leszek Muniak, combined decades of experience to create LMCI, and through initiative and leadership, the firm has grown to earn the respect of designers and authorities across Canada and in other countries. This initiative and leadership, together with the complementary skills and knowledge of our staff, enable us to provide clients with complete analyses and advice on Building Codes, life safety, fire protection and barrier-free design. Our staff is comprised of architects, specialist engineers and technologists who provide innovative contributions to building design enabling projects to express distinctive characteristics while ensuring public accessibility and life safety are incorporated. From project inception to its completion, our diversity of experience, expertise and knowledge enables us to provide the timely and quality services necessary to ensure its success. We worked to develop Australian guidelines for fire and safety; consulted on projects in Spain and Korea to assure safety in Expo pavilions; and helped create the Vancouver, Canada, transit code. This diversity of experience has provided us with a solid base from which we can increase project quality and design effectiveness without compromising life safety.   Leszek M. Muniak has more than 20 years experience in life safety and fire protection and has personally been involved with more than 600 projects. Many of these projects required the development of innovative fire protection and code compliance approaches for building retrofit as well as new construction.  Allan E. Larden, OAA, MRAIC, has provided Building Code and fire protection consulting services for a wide variety of commercial, residential and industrial projects. In a 10 year period with the Ontario Buildings Branch, he managed the production of the Ontario Building Code and worked extensively with Toronto building and fire officials and the Ministry of Labour.
